The Master’s Programme in Theoretical and Computational Methods provides a strong basis in the theoretical methods, modelling, and mathematical and numerical analysis within physics, mathematics, chemistry, and computer science. Its strong scientific emphasis makes it a natural gateway to further studies in physics, mathematics, chemistry, and computer science. This will usually take place within one of the research groups working on the Kumpula campus. This Master's programme requires a strong commitment from its students to develop their skills and plan their studies, but it also provides an opportunity to tailor an individual study programme based on personal skills and interests. The newly founded Master’s programme is expected to carry on the tradition of its predecessors whose graduates have found jobs as experts in many kinds of scientific positions in the private and the public sectors.
