Sari Oikarinen graduated with a degree in plant production sciences and works as the managing director of Gardenia-Helsinki Oy in Helsinki.
1. What did you study?
I studied plant production sciences, especially horticulture, on the Viikki Campus. In addition, I completed study modules in agricultural policy and crop science.
2. What do you do for a living?
I am the managing director of Gardenia-Helsinki Oy. My duties include managing the company’s business affairs, human resource affairs, daily operations and financial management, as well as marketing and public relations, basically everything.
3. How does the future look in your field?
There will certainly be plenty of career opportunities, but not necessarily purely in the gardening sector. One must be prepared to cast a wider net.
4. What is your favourite memory of your studies?
My best memories involve social life and traineeships.
