The University of Helsinki is a vibrant scientific community of 40,000 students and researchers. It is one of the leading multidisciplinary research universities in Europe and ranks among the top 100 international universities in the world. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine focuses on One Health research, with food safety, animal health and welfare, and translational medicine as its top profiling areas.

Professor Miia Lindström’s research group focus on molecular, epidemiological, ecological, and evolutionary facets of spore-forming and psychrotrophic food-borne pathogenic bacteria, with an emphasis on Clostridium botulinum and Listeria monocytogenes. We have an open position for a postdoctoral researcher in an ERC-funded project focusing on the mechanisms and regulation of C. botulinum neurotoxin production. The project utilizes state-of-the-art single-cell biology and –omics profiling tools and aims to understand the regulation, biological rationales, and control of bacterial toxin production.
