Mike Batty, Tina Saaby, Charles Landry, Simin Davoudi and Sako Musterd visited Helsinki in February 2017 to discuss modelling, complexity, resilience and spatial inequalities in urban context. These experts and professors belong to the Urban Academy International Advisory Board that supports the planning of the Master's Programme in Urban Studies & Planning.

The Advisory Board of the Urban Academy gave its best advice on how to foster a new way of looking at urban phenomena and create genuine interaction between people from different fields. This collaboration is an important part of the activities of Urban Academy and the Master's Programme in Urban Studies & Planning.

The Advisory Board also organised the Complex Urban Futures seminar on 16 February 2017 in Helsinki. Participants included Mike Batty, Professor of Planning at University College London, Simin Davoudi, Professor of Environmental Policy and Planning at Newcastle University and Sako Musterd, Professor of Social and Urban Geography at the University of Amsterdam.
