The Open University is the right place for you, if you wish to strengthen your professional skills or are looking for a change in your work career. In the Open University you can also seek out your own thing, acquaint yourself with university-level studies and complete university studies, for example, during a gap year. The Open University is also for everyone with a thirst for knowledge.

The Open University’s courses are based on the curricula of degree programmes at the University of Helsinki. Completed studies can subsequently be included in a university degree.

In autumn 2020 Open University studies will be organised in their entirety as online studies. The first studies commence in the beginning of September. Some of the summer and autumn 2020 studies are being exceptionally offered free of charge to everyone.

Registration and course fees
As a rule, registration starts 45 days prior to the start of each course. The exact registration time can be found by clicking the Register button in the course study programme. It is possible to register for and start studying certain courses more flexibly throughout the academic year.
The course fee is €15 per credit – usually €75 per course (5 cr). Some studies may include fee-based additional material. The study fee and material charges are payable online upon registration.
