The Faculty of Science has purchased Mathematica license (http://www.wolfram.com/mathematica/ ) for Kumpula Campus. Mathematica is a fully integrated technical computing system that combines high-precision numerical and symbolic computation with data visualization and Wolfram programming capabilities. The aim is, in addition to research, to start using the software also in teaching. Our students are now able to run e.g. lecturer made Wolfram demos on their own computers.
The license covers the staff of the Faculty, the students, and PhD students. It is allowed to install the software in a personal home computer also. More info in Intranet Flamma.
