In this mini-seminar, we discussed persistent identifiers, attribution and citing research data. The relationship to data is changing; it cannot anymore only sit on local hard drives and to be shared between friends. We need a systems for citation, and there are various aspects to be considered starting from authorship until how we measure the citations. Several new national guidelines have been published and implications of these were presented and discussed.
