RADDESS Xmas Calendar

Introduction to the "Radiation Detectors for Health, Safety and Security (RADDESS)" programme of the Academy of Finland.

In December, a new research project is introduced daily on the Twitter account of Academy Programmes (#AKA_RADDESS). One of the videos will present our UNIDET project, in which we develop a new universal approach for optical power detection. Our detector is based on the photoacoustic effect. It provides about 8 orders of magnitude of linear dynamic range (from nW-level to W-level) in electromagnetic power detection, covering all wavelengths from UV to far infrared! Extension to THz will follow!
