APV award for the most outstanding doctoral thesis in the pharmaceutical sciences in 2018/2019 to Flavia Fontana
The awarded thesis, Biohybrid Cloaked Nanovaccines for Cancer Immunotherapy, aimed at developing a biohybrid multistage nanovaccine formulation and to evaluate its anticancer efficacy in murine tumor models.

The commission of the International Association of Pharmaceutical Technology has chosen the PhD thesis of Dr Flavia Fontana as the best thesis 2018/2019.

The awarded thesis, Biohybrid Cloaked Nanovaccines for Cancer Immunotherapy, was presented in the Faculty of Pharmacy on 14 June 2019. The thesis aimed at developing a biohybrid multistage nanovaccine formulation and to evaluate its anticancer efficacy in murine tumor models.

This is the third time a member of Professor Hélder Santos’ group Nanomedicines and Biomedical Engineering receives this award.
