Lahti Lakes 2018 symposium a big success

The inaugural Lahti Lakes symposium ("Restoration of eutrophic lakes: Current practices and future challenges") was held in Lahti from 4-6. June.

85 researchers, including 30 overseas guests, attended Lahti Lakes 2018 to discuss the latest advances in lake restoration science. Tom Jilbert of ABRU was chair of the organizing committee for the symposium, which was held in Lahti's famous Sibelius Hall. Highlights of the meeting included plenary presentations from Martin Sondergaard, Gertrud Nurnberg and Jouko Sarvala, as well as a visit to the Lahti skijumping tower. A Finnish-language panel discussion on the final evening of the symposium was attended by over 100 local guests. For more information see www.lahtilakes2018.fi
