We have opened positions for 2 postdoctoral researchers for a fixed term of 2 years from September 3rd 2018 to August 31st 2020.

Candidates are expected to conduct research relevant to the research project. Given the breadth of the project, suitable areas of specialization include a wide range of topics in epistemology (including formal epistemology), meta-ethics, decision theory, and discussions of reasons and rationality.

The appointee must hold a doctoral degree in Philosophy before commencing work in the project, and have the ability to conduct independent scientific work. The working language will be English.

The post-doc will come with a travel budget of 2500 euros per year, with the possibility of further funds. The salary shall be based on levels 5 of the job requirement scheme for teaching and research staff in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, a salary component based on personal performance will be paid. The annual gross salary range will be approx. 41,000 – 50,000 euros, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience. In addition, occupational healthcare will be provided (in addition to national healthcare). The employment contract will include a probationary period of four months. The Faculty of Arts may provide help with possible relocation for post-docs hired outside Finland. For information on the University of Helsinki as an employer
