Visiting lecture: Archaeology and Agri-Tech

On 4th of February 2020 then PhD student, currently Dr. Henry Webber from the University of Bristol, UK, held a lecture titled Archaeology and Agri-Tech: Understanding the Past for a More Sustainable Future.

The event was organized as a collaboration between The Yamnaya Impact on Prehistoric Europe Project and the organization for students of archaeology Fibula ry.

Henry Webber introduced the audience to the innovative research field of precision farming agriculture in connection to archaeology. He presented the key points of his dissertation and the methods used to achieve them. The lecture gave an overview on how archaeologists could use agricultural methods for archaeological surveys and research and how agriculture could vice versa use archaeological methods in crop management.
