Sex Differences in Immunity

SEXDIM is an interdisciplinary research consortium investigating why sex differences in immunity are so pronounced in modern human populations

We integrate evolutionary theory, mathematical modelling, population genomics, cellular immunology, clinical research, and demography to understand how contemporary environments have disrupted evolved immune strategies, thereby contributing to women's elevated risk of autoimmune disease and men's greater susceptibility to infection.
