Oussama Batouche: "I was honoured to receive the 2nd prize award from the European Association of Urology at the Baltic-24 EAU conference in Tallinn, Estonia, in June 2024. In my talk, I presented one of the latest research studies from our group (hucc.fi), which analyses the association between time to curative treatment and the risk of biochemical recurrence in prostate cancer patients. Our models suggest that a shorter time until curative treatment is associated with a lower risk of biochemical recurrence. Patients of the same age category in the same grade group who are treated early are more likely to experience biochemical recurrence at a later time point after primary curative treatment. The presentation highlighted the methodological approaches and main findings, sparking significant interest and debates during the conference."
