After the keynote speech, Petra Kouvonen, PhD in sociology and Rector of Swedish School of Social Science at University of Helsinki will give a comment speech. There will also be time for a joint discussion.
The presentation builds on a reflection about a programme in the Child and Family Social Work field, Programme of Intervention for the Prevention of Institutionalisation (PIPPI). The child and family social work program have helped national and local implementation, and finally the meeting between theory and practice, supporting mechanisms of local knowledge production. This presentation will focus on the main implementation strategies used in the program, to discuss how it contributes to processes of knowledge production and local change. The presentation also include reflections on the role of learning in knowledge production.
Sara Serbati is Assistant Professor of Social Pedagogy at the University of Padova, Italy. Her work focuses on practice research in collaboration with practitioners in the field of child protection. She studies families’ participation in decision-making as a crucial factor for ensuring quality services and safeguarding children’s rights.
