David Gambarte

David Gambarte is a senior business developer and international sales professional. He has taken part in sports, consulting services, and medical business startups during the from-lab-to-market process. He has also built, enhanced, and maintained international sales channels in EMEA, LATAM and Asia in various (and diverse) business verticals. He has organised and led sales and marketing departments, designing their processes and all the operational interdependencies. He has done hundreds of sales and fundraising pitching in fairs, conferences, seminars & pitching competitions. He has trained top level executives from Accenture, Endesa, PWC, NH Hotels, and others using business simulation games. He has also been part of several crowdfunding projects.

Aline de Santa Izabel

Aline de Santa Izabel is an entrepreneur and biosciences specialist with a broad experience and network in entrepreneurship and innovation at a European level. She has been working with different startups and scaleups operating at the intersection of business, science, and tech focused on impact. Aline is currently supporting the development of the Deep Tech ecosystem in the Nordics and Baltics by accelerating innovative startups through her work as an Expert Advisor at the European Commission's European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator and Women EUTech Horizon Europe funding programmes. She also lectures at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and works as an ecosystem builder at DigitalWell Ventures and DigitalWell Arena, an innovation platform from the Compare Foundation supported by the Swedish Innovation agency.

Aline has been working as an innovation consultant providing expertise in different Biotech, Food tech, and Health tech innovation projects and initiatives at SMEs & global corporates. She provides startup advisory in business and product development, and fundraising for early-stage Deep Tech startups.

Chiara Facciotto

Chiara Facciotto is part of the innovation team at the University of Helsinki, where she leads the development of Meilahti's innovation ecosystem. Chiara has a research background in data science and biomedicine, she is passionate about bringing science to society, and has over five years of experience in coaching scientists in public speaking and pitching.

Chiara is Italian but she has been living in Finland since 2011. After completing her BSc between Turin and Shanghai, she started her MSc in Bioinformatics at Aalto University and then continued with her doctoral training at the University of Helsinki. She completed her PhD in Bioinformatics and cancer research in 2021. While pursuing her PhD, Chiara has been an active member of the local academic community, designing and teaching several university-level courses on a wide range of topics, including innovation and science communication. She has also been the main organiser of TEDxHelsinkiUniversity, a co-founder and board member of The Science Basement. Currently, Chiara is in the process of co-founding the science communication consultancy company ClariSci, and she also works as coordinator of innovation activities at the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE, UH), leading projects like Y Science (an official side event of Slush) and connecting researchers with the broader life science innovation ecosystem.

Reinier Meerwaldt

Reinier Meerwaldt started his career with an MSc in Biomedical Image Processing from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. After his studies, Reinier has worked in the business software implementation consultancy field in various technical and business roles. After ten years of seeing all that field had to offer he co-founded an international startup, Widget Brain, a software company specialised in AI based decision-making on a large variety of planning processes. Reinier has been hands-on involved in both the technical and business aspects of selling, implementing, and maintaining various algorithm solutions to customers from Asia, EMEA, and the US. While growing his business he also lived two years in the United States engaging with the local market. His company, Widget Brain was recently acquired by Quinyx, where Reinier is now responsible for further improving the success levels of their operations departments.

Reinier aims to better align products and their delivery to the intended end customer and to use data efficiently and intelligently to offer customers the best possible value.

Tommi Roman

Tommi Roman heads strategy & business development at Vaisala Industrial Measurements. Tommi has over 15 years of experience in the high-tech industry working on topics related to digitalisation, IoT sensing, and mobile technology. Prior to Vaisala, Tommi worked for several global technology and startup companies in various leadership roles related to strategy, business development, portfolio management, partnerships, marketing, and sales development. Tommi holds a master’s in Management of Technology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL).
