Helsinki Incubators, powered by the City of Helsinki and in collaboration with Terkko Health Hub and the Helsinki Think Company, is calling for applications to HealthX, the rebranded version of the former Terkko Health X pre-incubator. The two-month programme is designed to empower the future of health by supporting budding entrepreneurs with early-stage solutions that tackle issues within the health industry. Participants from a wide range of backgrounds such as healthcare, mental health, wellness, health technology, veterinary medicine, and pharma, are invited to come bring their solutions to life.
The programme will consist of speaker events and workshops designed to help participants kick-start their journeys in entrepreneurship and find their roles in empowering the future of health. A handpicked team of experts will ensure that the teams reach their potential in the best way possible, while a community of likeminded peers will offer them invaluable support and encouragement along the way.
The rebranding of the pre-incubator has brought with it a more comprehensive outlook on health, something that the programme views as a strength. The organising team has given special attention to the multitude of different, often intersecting, fields in which health and wellbeing are advanced.
HealthX’s project lead Liina Laukkanen eagerly waits to see the effects of the more multidisciplinary approach: “We’ve done a tremendous amount of work to redesign the programme so that it matches our participants’ needs even better. Health is such a broad concept, and as such, we want to speak to and accommodate a greater number of different applicants. For example, it would be wonderful if we got more applications from people working with psychology or animal health!”
HealthX has now also taken a sturdier place under the University of Helsinki brand and among the cohort of other pre-incubators produced by Helsinki Incubators. What this means is that the programme is now more tailored towards individuals and teams at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journeys. Nevertheless, in addition to students, researchers, staff, and alumni of the University, any other motivated innovators are welcome to get their solution on a good track to success, and to having a genuine impact on collective health.
HealthX will begin 18 April, and have its final showcase on 9 June. Workshops, lectures, and other events will take place twice a week, primarily on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Take a look at the programme schedule to find out more. As with all Helsinki Incubators programmes, HealthX is free of charge and will be conducted in English.
Applications will be open until 31 March—read more about the programme here, and consider also joining the “Get to know the programme” info session held on 22 March!
