Mentorship Session in Kumpula with Industrial Partners for Doctoral Researchers & Academics with interesting Ideas & Projects

Organised by the Helsinki Incubators team and the Catharsis Computing Club, this unique opportunity for researchers to connect with world-class mentors and present their business or project ideas will be held in conjunction with the kick-off of the NEXUS incubator programme.

The Nexus: Deep Tech, AI and Sustainability Incubator and the Catharsis Computing Club are organising an onsite Speed Dating and Mentorship Session to connect academics, entrepreneurs and industrial partners on Monday, September 12th, 2022 in Kumpula, home of the University of Helsinki’s Faculty of Science.

The event offers the unique opportunity to connect with world-class mentors from Accenture, Continental, Daimler, IBM, Techstars, Telefonica, international investors and serial entrepreneurs from Finland, Spain and Sweden who are also acting as mentors in Nexus. PhD participants will be able to introduce their ideas and projects to the mentors and get feedback during rotating 30-minute one-to-one matchmaking sessions.

This opportunity is primarily for Doctoral researchers from the University of Helsinki. In addition, the event is also open to PhD researchers from Aalto University, advanced master’s students and recent master’s and PhD graduates from both universities. Applications from collectives underrepresented in STEM are most welcome.

The event will take place on the 12th of September from 9:00 to 12:00 at the Kumpula campus. Applications for the event open on the 10th of August, and the deadline is on the 2nd of September at 9.00. Apply here!

Carlos de la Torre is a founder of the Catharsis Computer Club. He is also a PhD researcher in Computer Science and a board representative for the Doctoral Programme in Computer Science (DoCS) at the University of Helsinki.
