New research projects

Two new research projects have started at CES:

  • Gatekeeping the Nation: Deportation at Finnish Borderscapes from the Cold War to Europeanisation (GATE), lead by Miika Tervonen and founded by the Research Council of Finland
  • Politicized Loneliness: Hatred, Violence, and Experiences of Loneliness Online, lead by Ari-Elmeri Hyvönen and founded by Emil Aaltonen Foundation

The Centre for European Studies has moved to Unioninkatu 33

The Centre of European Studies has moved to new premises. You'll find us at Unioninkatu 33, on the 2nd floor. The entrance is in the inner yard.

The 20th Anniversary Seminar, February 2-3, 2023

The Centre for European Studies celebrates its 20 years of existence in 2023. To mark this milestone, it organises a seminar which brings together researchers of European Studies across the disciplines in Finland to discuss their research agendas, as well as current state and future of the research area.
