Tero Pajukallio is a freelance photographer based in Helsinki. His work consists mainly of journalistic photography and the photography of various events. Nature photography became an important part of his work in the 2020s. In nature photography, he is particularly fascinated by mires, forests, and landscapes.
– For this exhibition, I have selected especially photographs of mires because of the incredible colors they contain. When walking along boardwalks, the rich color palette of the mires is not apparent, but a drone reveals the full spectrum of colors. The images have been enhanced in terms of color saturation, so they should be regarded more as photographic art than as documentary photographs.
Colours is on display at the Natural History Museum café from August 18 to October 11, 2026.
The café follows the museum's opening hours and opens half an hour after the museum itself. Admission to the café is free.
Research groups, artists, photographers, writers, nature enthusiasts, and others interested in nature are welcome to propose exhibitions for the Natural History Museum and the botanical gardens in Kaisaniemi and Kumpula.
