Language Centre's Equality and well-being event for students and staff

Language Centre's event is part of Students’ Mental Health Week's programme at the University of Helsinki.
Students' Mental Health Week takes place on April, 8 to 14, 2024

Students’ Mental Health Week is a campaign coordinated by the Student Well-being Network (Nyyti ry). The campaign aims at highlighting the mental health situation of students and building a more psychologically healthy study culture. The theme of the campaign week is equality, particularly focusing on social accessibility. You can read more about the campaign week here in the Student Well-being Network’s web pages.

The Language Center participates in Students' Mental Health Week by organizing an equality and well-being event for students and staff. The event is held at the Language Centre (Fabianinkatu 26) and involves various activity points – you can join activities for a moment or for a longer time; you can visit each activity point, or just one. The activity points are spread throughout the Language Center's floors, both in common areas and classrooms. The purpose of the equality and well-being event is to give students and staff the opportunity to have a relaxed moment together.

The activity points are open during the Students' Mental Health Week from Tue 9th April to Thu 11th. Some of the activity points are open between 10.00 and 16.00, whereas some are open for two-hour periods. All points have activity hosts.

You can join the activity points in the language of your choice, except for a few activities where the languages are mentioned separately. No registration is required, and you don't need to bring your own supplies; the necessary materials are available at the points. You’ll find more detailed instructions on the activity points during the campaign week at the Language Centre.

The activity points include:
