Language Centre invites University of Helsinki students to spend time together and talk during the Students’ Mental Health Week!
Students’ Mental Health Week is a campaign coordinated by the Student Well-being Network (Nyyti ry). The campaign aims at highlighting the mental health situation of students and building a more psychologically healthy study culture. The theme of the campaign week is “Student, how are you?” You can read more about the campaign week here in the Student Well-being Network’s web pages.
During the Students' Mental Health Week there are different boardgames, chess and puzzles spread throughout the Language Center's floors, in the common areas. In the first floor “Aquarium space” (room 110) you can find a knitting corner that is open from Tue 8th April to Thu 10th between 10-14. The meaning of this event and invitation is to present, both students and staff members, the opportunity for to meet each other, spend time together and talk.
You can join the activity points in the language of your choice or use multiple languages if you wish. No registration is required.
The activity points include:
- Knitting corner (you can bring your own knitting project)
- Gaming
- Puzzle-making
- Chezz
- ”How are you?” wall where students and staff members can write their greetings to fellow students and Language Centre staff members
During the campaign week students have also the opportunity to familiarize themselves with and comment the Language Centre Safer Space Principles. The principles have been put together by the Language Centre jointly during the Spring 2025.
On Thursday 10th April Language Centre also organizes the traditional Multilingual Workshop in the Language Centre Festive Hall, room 310 (3rd floor). Please register to the workshop with this form.
Welcome to spend time together and talk!
