Media Kitchen

The Media Kitchen makes buffers, liquid media, plates and other reagents for research use. We have a selection of products ready for purchase and will make others when ordered. We can make any order we have reagents for if you provide the recipe. We can also make orders from your (non-hazardous) reagents. All the recipes we use have been produced by researchers and are available by request.

The Media Kitchen facility is primarily for the use of the Institute of Biotechnology’s research groups but we can serve other University of Helsinki research groups also. But everyone needs a customer account with us before making purchases or orders. Please contact us if you're interested in opening an account with us.

Ordering info

You can order by filling in the order form linked below or by visiting us and filling in an order form on location. Please use the email for all orders, not staff members own email.

If you want to buy a larger amount of solutions (> 4 bottles) or plates (> 20 plates) please make a separate order for it.

Reserve at least 3 working days completion time for your order, you might get it earlier but don't count on it.

We can autoclave your non-hazardous liquids and agars. Standard sterilization runs only. If you bring your bottles by 9 am, they will be autoclaved on the same day.
