The group study facilities in the University learning centres and Helsinki University Library can only be reserved by the students and staff of the University. The facilities are meant for group study – you may not reserve them for your personal use, public meetings or teaching.

The group study facilities are available for use during the opening hours of the library sites and learning centres.

To make a reservation, you need the University’s Office365 account and calendar. Group study room can be reserved for maximum of 2 hours/person/day. Longer bookings can be cancelled without further notice. A reservation expires 30 minutes after its starting time if none of the members of the group have arrived.

You may use the space temporarily if it is not reserved. However, users with a reservation always take precedence.

Keep the facilities tidy and clean up after yourself.

You can book a room with your Office365 calendar.

  1. Open the calendar. Double-click the day for which you want to make a booking. When the window opens, press the arrow in the upper right corner.
  2. Click Search for a room or location, and select + Browse more rooms from the drop-down menu.
  3. Type Group Study Rooms for Students in the search box.
  4. Choose a suitable room from the drop-down menu.
  5. The room you have reserved will send an email to confirm or reject your reservation. Please note that the reservation is valid only after the room calendar has confirmed it. Always check the email sent by the room or the equipment. Save the email in case there is a problem with the reservation.
  6. Group study room can be reserved for maximum of 2 hours/person/day. Your reservation will be rejected if it is too long (more than two hours), the reservation is outside the opening hours, you don't have reserving rights, or if someone else has made a reservation at the same time as you.
