In March 2025, Olena Zelenska, the spouse of the President of Ukraine, donated a selection of books about Ukraine and by Ukrainian authors to the National Library of Finland, the Helsinki University Library, and the Tampere University Library. The donation is part of the Olena Zelenska Foundation’s efforts to promote the Ukrainian language and culture.
Books donated to the Helsinki University Library are now on display on the 3rd floor of Kaisa House, near the self-service machines. The collection will be available until the end of July, or as long as the books remain on the cart.
The books are available for loan with a library card, either via self-service machines or at the customer service desk.
The collection offers students, researchers, and other library users an opportunity to explore Ukrainian fiction and non-fiction. The books can also be found in the Helka database under the Olena Zelenska Foundation Themed Collection.
