Want to try out digital humanities methods? Welcome to the GALE tools webinar on 20 April

The GALE Digital Scholar Lab is a tool used at the university. An introduction to its use will be provided in a webinar on 20 April from 1pm to 3pm, welcome!

The at the University of Helsinki, which has been in use for some time, provides a hands-on guide to data collection and simple statistical analyses of textual data.

The tool allows users to analyse historical newspaper collections available through GALE (e.g. The Times Digital Archive or Eighteenth Century Collections Online) and to upload their own data for analysis. For all the collections licensed for data mining, see our .

Practising the different steps will help you to understand the potential and limitations of text-based computational methods in a concrete way.

GALE webinar on 20 April
