The new doctoral school of the University of Helsinki started at the beginning of 2023. The University has now 33 doctoral programmes, all of which are now part of a single Doctoral School.
On 26 September 2023, the Doctoral School organized in the main building a Welcome to Doctoral School event for doctoral students starting their studies. The opening ceremony was held in the Ballroom, after which the doctoral students were free to visit the exhibitors at the exhibition.
The atmosphere at the event was active and energetic. There was also a large crowd around the library's exhibition table, where brochures on the services offered by the library were on display, especially for researchers.
All the training courses offered by the library are also open to doctoral students. Courses particularly suitable for doctoral researchers include:
