Data catalogue is a service developed by the Helsinki University Library that gathers and displays information about research data produced at the University of Helsinki. It does not contain the research data itself, but their metadata, i.e., information on where the data can be found and how to use it.
Data produced by the University of Helsinki researchers are imported from international and domestic data repositories to Data catalogue. Additionally, researchers can manually describe their data in Data catalogue, making previously unpublished research data visible. Data catalogue also serves as a search interface for datasets in Databank, a data preservation service that was launched last year.
Currently, the service is available only in English. Finnish and Swedish interfaces will be introduced in summer 2025.
