Postal Services Strike to Delay Notifications and Interlibrary Loans from Library

During the strike, notices sent by the library or interlibrary loans will not arrive by mail. If you have received notifications from the library by mail, inform the library of your email address.

The strike of postal workers in Finland began on Monday, November 11, 2019. The strike can last up to two weeks or longer.

During the strike, notifications sent by the library or interlibrary loans will not arrive by mail.

If the notifications from the library are usually sent to you by post, do the following during the strike:

You can Inform the the library of your email address by using the form, by logging in to Helka in Your Account or at the library's customer service.

All mail sent by post, including reminders for overdue loans and reservation notifications, will be delayed during the strike. You can keep track of the due dates in Helka by logging in to your own account.

Interlibrary loans only by email

During the strike, Helsinki University Library will exceptionally send articles as interlibrary loans only by email.

Interlibrary loans from the Helsinki University Library ordered by other Finnish libraries may be delayed indefinitely during and even after the strike.
