Possible exposure in Kaisa House on 5th of October

A person present in the Kaisa House on the 5th of October was later tested positive for coronavirus. Persons present in the library’s 7th floor reading area on said date between 13-16 o’clock may have been exposed to the coronavirus. They are urged to monitor their health closely for two weeks until the 19th of Ocotber. They should seek out coronavirus testing even with the mildest symptoms.

They should avoid close contact with elderly people and those at risk until they have received a negative test result and no longer exhibit symptoms. The use of a face mask will reduce the risk of infection in situations where it is not possible to ensure that safe distances can be maintained.

The symptoms include intermittently elevated body temperature, fever, coughing, headache, muscle ache, a sore throat, a runny nose, shortness of breath, loss of the sense of smell and taste, nausea, diarrhoea and abnormal fatigue.

Helsinki residents can complete a coronavirus symptom assessment at omaolo.fi https://www.omaolo.fi/ The Omaolo service provides instructions and advises you to make an appointment for a coronavirus test when necessary. Helsinki residents are also served by the coronavirus helpline, tel. 09 310 10024 (8–18 o’clock every day). Residents of other municipalities can contact their local health services if they experience coronavirus symptoms. Please also notify the City of Helsinki Epidemiologic Operations Unit of any positive test results by telephone.

We recommend the use of Koronavilkku. You can download it to your phone at https://koronavilkku.fi/en. Koronavilkku does not indicate exposure situations prior to installation. If you are using Koronavilkku and receive an alert, follow the instructions provided by the application.
