They should avoid close contact with elderly people and those at risk until they have received a negative test result and no longer exhibit symptoms. The use of a face mask will reduce the risk of infection in situations where it is not possible to ensure that safe distances can be maintained.
The symptoms include intermittently elevated body temperature, fever, coughing, headache, muscle ache, a sore throat, a runny nose, shortness of breath, loss of the sense of smell and taste, nausea, diarrhoea and abnormal fatigue.

Helsinki residents are also served by the coronavirus helpline, tel. 09 310 10024 (8–18 o’clock every day). Residents of other municipalities can contact their local health services if they experience coronavirus symptoms. Please also notify the City of Helsinki Epidemiologic Operations Unit of any positive test results by telephone.
