Opening Carnival in the Kaisa House - Be prepared for traffic and noise on September 4

The Opening Carnival will cause some noise and traffic in the Kaisa House throughout Monday, September 4.

HYY organises the Opening Carnival to open the academic year on at 2-6 pm on Monday September 4 at the City Centre Campus. At the Carnival, both new and old students of the University of Helsinki will get a chance to explore the diverse range of organisations operating under HYY.

The organizations will set up their stands in Porthania, University Main Building, Kaisa House entrance lobby (3rd floor) and in the outdoor area of the City Centre Campus. The preparations for the event start at 9 am, the event itself runs from 2 pm to 6 pm, and it will take about 2-3 hours to dismantle.

Questions about the library? The library stand is located on the right side of the library’s main entrance. At the stand, we are happy to answer questions about the use of the library. In addition, candy and bookmarks are available. If you play the library’s virtual escape game on the Carnival day, we will reward you with the library’s fabulous overall badge!

Customers who wish to work in silence should take into account that the Opening Carnival will cause some noise and traffic in the building. The Kaisa House entrance lobby on the 3rd floor will be particularly crowded from 12 pm to 6 pm.

The library's customer service desk and the self-service machines will operate normally during the event. The most peaceful working space can be found on basement floors K3 and K4.
