Opening hours
The Kaisa House and the Viikki Campus Library will be open throughout the summer. Kumpula and Meilahti Campus Libraries will be closed from June 17 to August 4. The last opening day of the Learning Centre Aleksandria before the renovation is June 20. Night access to the Learning Centre will also be closed during the renovation.
The library locations have shorter opening hours:
- in Meilahti from Mon May 20 onwards
- in Kumpula from Mon June 6 onwards
- in Kaisa House and Viikki from Thu June 20 onwards
Borrowing and returning printed materials
Customer service in Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki Campus Libraries is closed from June 17 until August 11, and therefore collections have long loan periods. You can order books from the Kumpula and Meilahti collections to be picked up from the Kaisa House or Viikki by making a normal reservation for the book in Helka.
Loans from Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki collections will receive a due date on August 14 as follows:
- 28 day loans starting on May 20
- 14 day loans (textbooks) starting on June 3
- 2 day loans starting on June 13
The material from the Kaisa House collections has normal loan periods, as the library and its customer service is open all summer.
The reservation shelves in Kumpula and Meilahti are available until Friday June 14. From Monday June 17 onwards, all reservations will be picked up from the Kaisa House or Viikki Campus Library.
You can return books to the Main Library and Viikki Campus Library during the opening hours. Books can be returned to the return hatches around the clock at Kaisa House and Kumpula. In Meilahti, books can be returned to the Haartman Institute's return box. During summer Haartman Institute is open Mon-Fri 8-15:30.
