Borrowing and returning printed materials
Kumpula and Meilahti Campus Libraries will be closed from June 19 to August 6. You can order books from the Kumpula and Meilahti collections to be picked up from the Kaisa House or Viikki by making a normal reservation for the book in the Helka database.
Loans from Kumpula and Meilahti collections will receive a due date on August 10 as follows:
- 28 day loans starting on May 22
- 14 day loans (textbooks) starting on June 5
- 2 day loans starting on June 15.
The material from the Kaisa House and Viikki collections has normal loan periods, as the libraries are open throughout the summer.
The reservation shelves in Kumpula and Meilahti are available until Friday June 16. From Monday June 19 onwards, all reservations will be picked up from the Kaisa House or Viikki Campus Library.
You can return books to the Main Library and Viikki Campus Library during the opening hours. Books can be returned to the return hatches around the clock at Kaisa House and Kumpula. In Meilahti, books can be returned to the Haartman Institute's return box. During summer Haartman Institute is open Mon-Fri 8-15:30.
Opening hours
The Kaisa House and the Viikki Campus Library, as well as Learning Centre Aleksandria will be open throughout the summer. Kumpula and Meilahti Campus Libraries will be closed from June 19 to August 6.
The library locations have shorter opening hours
- in Meilahti from Mon May 15 onwards
- in Kumpula from Mon May 22 onwards
- in Aleksandria and Kaisa House from Thu June 22 onwards.
