Opening hours
The Kaisa House and the Viikki Campus Library will be open throughout the summer. Kumpula and Meilahti Campus Libraries will be closed from 16 June to 3 August. The Learning Centre Aleksandria will open after renovation in July.
The library locations have shorter opening hours:
- in Meilahti from Mon 26 May onwards
- in Kumpula and Viikki from Mon 2 June onwards
- The extended opening hours of the Kaisa House will end on 1 June and the main library will be open as follows:
- 2 June - 3 July Mon-Fri at 8-20 and Sat at 11-17
- 4 July - 17 August Mon-Fri at 8-18
- On Ascension Day, 29 May, Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki Campus Libraries are closed. Kaisa House is open on a self-service basis at 11-17
- Kaisa House and Viikki Campus Library will be closed on Midsummer between 20 and 22 June
Borrowing and returning printed materials
Customer service in Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki Campus Libraries is closed from 16 June until 10 August, and therefore collections have long loan periods.
Loans from Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki collections will receive a due date on 12 August as follows:
- 28 day loans starting on 19 May
- 14 day loans (textbooks) starting on 2 June
- 2 day loans starting on 12 June
The material from the Kaisa House collections has normal loan periods, as the library and its customer service is open all summer.
You can return books to the Main Library and Viikki Campus Library during the opening hours. Books can be returned to the return hatches around the clock at Kaisa House and Kumpula. In Meilahti, books can be returned to the Haartman Institute's return box. During summer Haartman Institute is open Mon-Fri 8-15:30.
Reservations
You can order books from the Kumpula and Meilahti collections to be picked up from the Kaisa House or Viikki by making a reservation for the book in Helka.
As of Friday 6 June, it is no longer possible to choose Kumpula or Meilahti as the pick-up location for your reservation. However, it is possible to pick up arrived reservations at the Kumpula and Meilahti campus libraries until Friday 13 June. From Monday 16 June onwards, all reservations will be picked up at Kaisa House or Viikki.
