Hankehaavi becomes part of Research.fi service

The entire data content of the Hankehaavi project database will be merged into the Research.fi -service.

The 16-year life of Hankehaavi project will come to an end at the end of 2023. Hankehaavi has served its users by providing a unique set of project descriptions from Finland's key research data producing organisations in the natural resources sector.

In the future, the full content of the project database will be accessible through Research.fi. The participating organisations will be the first to be able to present their past and present research activities comprehensively, now also through their public project descriptions.

The migrating project portfolio now comprises more than 12 000 descriptions, of which 2250 are ongoing. The data producers are the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), the University of Helsinki (UH), the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke), the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute FGI (MML), Finnish Food Authority and Finnish Environment Institute (Syke). The old projects of the Finnish Forest Research Institute (Metla), the Centre for Agricultural and Food Research (MTT) and the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute (RKTL), which merged with the Natural Resources Institute in 2015, will also be stored in the national repository.

The old Project Hankehaavi website will remain visible until January 2024. Once the projects have been transferred to the Finnish Science and Research portal, users will be automatically redirected to the portal. In the future, project information will also be transferred from other Finnish research organisations.
