While The Learning Centre Aleksandria is under renovation, Kaisa House will have extended opening hours for the academic year 2024-2025. The Main Library will be open from Monday 2 September as follows:
- Mon-Thu 8-22
- Fri from 8-20
- Sat-Sun 11-17
The library's customer service is open Mon-Fri 10-18 and Sat 11-17. On Sundays the customer service is closed, but the library's facilities are accessible within the building's opening hours. Basement floors K3 and K4 will close at 19:45 on weekdays and 16:45 on Saturdays. On Sundays the basement floors are closed. However, material can be retrieved on request even when the basement floors are closed.
New study spaces in Kaisa House
New study spaces have also been added on the different floors of Kaisa House. On the 2nd floor of the library there are now more computer workstations and on the 3rd floor in room 3007 there are designer workstations with Adobe software. In addition, rooms have been opened on floors 5 and 6 for both group work and quiet work. More study space will be added later in the autumn term.
Alternative study spaces in the city centre and on other campuses
The library's website lists other alternative study spaces suitable for independent work and group work in the city centre and on other campuses. For example, the National Library, located in the neighbouring block of Kaisa House, has several reading rooms for quiet work. Silent reading areas are also available at the Finnish Literary Society's Library in Kruununhaka. Group work can be done, for example, in the Think Corner. The campus libraries, Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki, also provide work spaces for different needs.
