Summer opening hours are valid at Helsinki Library the University until 22 August. The library will move to extended hours for the autumn semester on Monday 23 August.
The Kaisa House and Learning Center Aleksandria are also open on Saturdays from 4 September on.
Groupwork spaces are in use and can be booked by the students of University of Helsinki during the library's opening hours. However, computer classes are still closed. Due to the guidelines of the Regional State Administrative Agency and the epidemic situation, the library's reading places are reserved primarily for the use of the university students.
The opening hours and additional guidelines for the autumn semester will be updated on the library's website on 16 August.
In the Kaisa House, the services and access to collections may be affected by the renewal of the fire extinguishing system. In Viikki, the library operates as a pop-up library. Read more: The Kaisa House and Viikki Pop-up-library
Safety Instructions
Follow the instructions for the corona situation displayed in the library. The safety of our customers and staff is important to us.
Each customer is responsible for following these safety instructions in all Library premises.

Wearing a protective face mask is required on library premises, unless there are no other people present. You can get a face mask from the building’s porter for free, or buy one from the library’s customer service.

Keep adequate distance from other customers and library staff. Take care of the distance also in the group work spaces.

Only visit the library when you're healthy.

Use disinfectant towels to clean shared devices. You can get disinfectant towels from library’s customer service or from the building’s porter.
