Coronavirus situation at the University of Helsinki - Libraries Open For Now

Students are urged to study at home. Learning Center Aleksandria will close from March 16th onwards.

An exceptional situation has been declared at the University of Helsinki. Authorised by the rector, the coronavirus management team will make all University-specific decisions and issue any regulations necessitated by the situation.

The decisions will enter into force on Monday, 16 March 2020.

E-resources for distance learning

Students are urged to study at home and to avoid using shared study facilities at the University.

The electronic collections of the library are accessible to all university students remotely, regardless of location. Learn more about using e-resources.

Libraries open for now

The library locations remain open for now. Meilahti Campus Library will have shorter opening hours as Terkko Health Hub closes already at 5 pm.

The Learning Center Aleksandria on the city center campus will close from Monday March 16th onwards until May 31st. The building is not accessible for the night time use with the electronic key either.
