HELSUS and RESET are planning a series of matchmaking sessions in September–October 2026 to support consortium building for selected upcoming Horizon Europe calls. To help us identify the most relevant opportunities and participants, we invite expressions of interest via the Lyyti form below.
We are particularly keen to hear not only from colleagues in the natural and technical sciences, but also from researchers working in the social sciences and humanities, as well as from those with expertise in, e.g., policy, governance, law, economics, education, business, innovation, communication, and stakeholder engagement. Several of the calls explicitly require interdisciplinary approaches and, in some cases, the effective contribution of SSH disciplines.
If you are already involved in a consortium led by the University of Helsinki for any of these calls, please let us know. This will help us coordinate efforts and avoid unnecessary overlap within the university.

We are currently assessing interest in the following calls (a subset will be selected for the matchmaking sessions):
A. Understanding and avoiding maladaptation to climate change.
- Call opens: 17 November 2026
- Deadline: 4 March 2027
- Single-stage RIA
- Budget: approximately €6 million per project (around three projects funded)
- This call is relevant not only for climate and environmental researchers, but also for colleagues working on governance, policy, public administration, economics, justice, inequalities, behavioral change, planning, and risk communication.

B. Health of ecosystems and wild species: predictions and impacts on human health in the face of existing and emerging stressors from a One Health approach.
- Call opens: 20 April 2027
- Deadline: 22 September 2027
- Single-stage RIA
- Budget: approximately €7 million per project (around two projects funded)
- Relevant expertise includes biodiversity and health research, but also public health, environmental exposure, ethics, governance, inequalities, socio-economic analysis, and science-policy interface work.
C. Increasing the resilience of agriculture in water- and nutrient-scarce environments through digital innovations.
- Call opens: 20 April 2027
- Deadline: 23 September 2027
- Single-stage RIA
- Budget: approximately €6 million per project (around two projects funded)
- In addition to agricultural, environmental, and digital expertise, this call would benefit from input on farmer behaviour, advisory systems, accessibility, training, adoption, business models, and other SSH-related dimensions.
D. Empowering local urban food systems entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Call opens: 20 April 2027
- Deadline: 23 September 2027
- Single-stage IA
- Budget: approximately €6 million per project (around two projects funded)
- This call is especially relevant for colleagues working on entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, urban studies, governance, social innovation, inclusion, education, community engagement, and local economic development, alongside food systems expertise.
E. Impact of access to nature-positive environments in promoting social cohesion and reducing inequalities in urban and peri-urban settings.
- Call opens: 13 May 2027
- Deadline: 23 September 2027
- Single-stage RIA
- Budget: €3–4 million per project (around three projects funded)
- This call has a strong SSH profile and is particularly relevant for expertise in social cohesion, inequalities, urban studies, sociology, geography, governance, planning, justice, public policy, and community engagement, alongside environmental and biodiversity perspectives.
