Kone Foundation has granted additional resources for fellowships targeted for scholars who have escaped the war in Ukraine and cannot continue to work in their home country. The additional funding will be distributed through the Collegium’s Kone Foundation Fellowship program, which supports researchers from the Baltic countries, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine.
The Collegium recruits the researchers through its networks according to the practices of the invitational fellowship program. A call for invitational fellowhips will be shortly distributed via the Collegium's networks, and the deadline for proposals is April 1 2022. Decisions will be made as soon as possible thereafter. The researchers will begin their research period as soon as possible, joining the international researcher community of the Collegium.
Kone Foundation supports researchers and artists fleeing the war in Ukraine also by funding the Scholars at Risk program at Turku Institute of Advanced Study at the University of Turku and by receiving residents at the Foundation’s residencies in Mynämäki and Lauttasaari Manor in Helsinki.
