The five-year term of Prof. Tuomas Forsberg as the Director of the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies ended on August 14 2023.
The recruitment of the new Director had begun well in advance, and the recruitment group nominated the candidate for the Rector in the spring 2023. Unfortunately, however, the elected new Director was unable to assume the position due to other pressing commitments.
As of August 15, Dr. Hanne Appelqvist, who has worked as the Deputy Director of the Collegium since January 2019, will act as interim Director while the recruitment process continues.
