The new season of the Periferia multidisciplinary art exhibition, which opened in June last year, begins. The opening of the exhibition will take place at the Hyytiälä Forest Station in Juupajoki, Southern Finland, on Friday 17 May 2024 from 18.00.
The exhibition will feature three new works:

Metsä vastaa / Forest answers / Kustaa Saksi (FI)
On Saturday 18 May, the event will continue with the The Word for World Is Forest Symposion.

Exhibition spreads out in the surroundings of the forest station
The Hyytiälä Forest Station's natural environment, comprising forests and peatlands, serves as the backdrop for a multidisciplinary art exhibition that has been developed over recent years. The exhibition was inaugurated in 2023.

The works are set in the nature of the forest station, and in the buildings of the station. The exhibition is permanent and will be open every summer in snowless period.
Periferia exhibition is curated by Ulla Taipale. The exhibition has been organised within the framework of the Climate Whirl Arts Programme at INAR (Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research), in collaboration with Hyytiälä Forest Station.
The exhibition is funded by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation “Suuret kulttuurihankkeet”. Other supporters are ACCC (Atmosphere and Climate Competence Center), Kone Foundation, Taike, Finnish Cultural Foundation/Pirkanmaa and University of Eastern Finland.
You can stay overnight at the forestry station between Friday and Saturday night and have dinner on Saturday 18 May at your own expense. Bring your swimsuits for the sauna and some BBQ snacks!
