Astronomy laboratories

There are two astronomy laboratories at the department, a scattering laboratory and a space instrument laboratory, and further, there are telescopes for teaching purposes.

The astronomy laboratories include a scattering laboratory and a space instrument laboratory. In addition, there are telescopes reserved for educational use. The department has a telescope with a 35 cm main mirror in Kumpula and a larger 60 cm telescope at the Metsähovi Observatory in Kirkkonummi.

Additionally, the Helsinki Observatory on Tähtitorninmäki has two optical telescopes for educational use and a small radio telescope with a diameter of 2.3 meters.
