POSTGRADUATE STUDIES AT THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
Postgraduate education mainly aims at the completion of a doctoral degree, but postgraduate students may also pursue a Licentiate degree. In addition, the discipline of social work offers a Licentiate degree which includes professional specialisation.
Postgraduate degrees available at the Faculty of Social Sciences include the Licentiate of Social Sciences and Doctor of Social Sciences, as well as Doctor of Philosophy in special cases.
The Faculty of Social Sciences coordinates three doctoral programmes: the Doctoral Programme in Economics, the Doctoral Programme in Political, Societal and Regional Changes and the Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences.
The websites of the doctoral programmes provide further information on the programme profiles, teaching, events and supervisors.
The doctoral programmes are included in the Doctoral School in Humanities and Social Sciences (HYMY), one of four doctoral schools at the University of Helsinki.
