My research aims at understanding the Big Bang: by studying the very early Universe we can test fundamental theories of physics, and trace the history of the first few instants of time. I am particularly interested in gravitational waves as way to directly observe the conditions when the Universe was only a few picoseconds old.
Associate professor in experimental particle physics. I lead the CMS experiment project at Helsinki Institute of Physics and am the Team Leader to CERN. My research focuses on sprays of particles called jets, which are used widely in the physics analyses done at the Large Hadron Collider.
