The Department of Mathematics and Statistics engages in active cooperation both in Finland and abroad. We support science education and the learning of mathematics in many different ways and participate in international networks that promote the role of women in mathematics. Our cooperation activities have long traditions: the Finnish Mathematical Society was founded back in 1868 and the Finnish Statistical Society in 1920.
