During the years 2011-2016 a well-functioning network in the research performed within pharmaceutical profiling, pharmaceutical technology and drug delivery was established between Universities in Copenhagen, Helsinki, Tartu and Uppsala with the aid of NordForsk funding.

The network is focusing on the mobility of staff and students (post docs, PhD and MSc students) from units responsible for educating pharmaceutical sciences in Northern Europe. We aim to improve the education of future researchers within the field of pharmaceutics by exposing them to an international and multidisciplinary network of highest standard. The network is also heading for more efficient use of existing facilities and equipment and knowhow via cooperation.

Since the start in 2011, 16 research visits (length of the visit 2 to 62 days) with a total 233 days, are made. This increases the impact of the research undertaken. The academic group was extended in 2015 by incorporating University of Southern Denmark to the group and Further in 2016 by University of Oslo from Norway and Medical University of Gdansk from Poland. The long term goal with the network is to position Northern Europe as a center of excellence in pharmaceutics.
