Specific training for medical specialists includes a written examination which can be taken at any time. It can be taken in conjunction with the national specialist examination in medicine and dentistry, which takes place three times a year, but this is not compulsory.
Taking the examination in conjunction with the specialist examination in medicine
If the written examination included in specific training for medical specialists raining is taken in conjunction with the national specialist examination in medicine and dentistry, the examinee must register at least five weeks before the examination with the Faculty’s examination coordinator, who handles registration and other practical matters.
University of Helsinki students should register via email to email@example.com.
More information on the times and venues of the national specialist examination in dentistry and medicine as well as practical instructions can be accessed online. The national specialist examination in medicine and dentistry and the examination associated with specific training programmes have nothing in common except the examination venue.
The examination requirements are valid until further notice. They can be updated when necessary or when the requirements for specialist degrees are updated. The Faculty Council decides on the updating of requirements for training and examinations.
