Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial diseases, Professor David Rice expressed pride in this accomplishment, stating,
"We are a very small department, but we have been able to compete with the global heavyweights. This is not a one-year success either, we have been in the world’s top 50 for 9 out of the last 10 years, this year’s rank is our highest yet. This is something that should be celebrated."

These include the volume of research papers published in top scientific journals and international recognition through esteemed roles such as Editor-in-Chief of leading journals and various international awards.

These include exploring the relationship between oral health and systemic health from precision diagnostics to patient care, developmental genetics of craniofacial deformities, cancer biology and treatment efficacy, and advancements in dental pedagogy.
