New training programmes open for applications in 2022
In 2022, applications are accepted to nine Psychotherapist Training Programmes, which represent a diverse spectrum of frameworks and target groups. In addition, applications are accepted to the Trainer Psychotherapist Training Programme in Integrative Psychotherapy, which is intended as continuing education for people who have already completed a Psychotherapist Training Programme.

Detailed descriptions of all training programmes are available on the Finnish-language website. In all training programmes the language of instruction is Finnish or Swedish.

Duration of the training programme: 3.5 years
Number of students admitted to the training programme: 24
Training programme fee: €14,670

The training programme is organised in cooperation with the Center for Cognitive Psychotherapy Luote Ltd.

Duration of the training programme: 3.5 years

Fee for the aptitude assessment: €180–223.20 (depending on the interviewer)

The training programme is organised in cooperation with the Finnish Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (FINACAT).

The programme is implemented in cooperation with Integrum Institute for Cognitive Therapies Finland.

The programme is organised by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki, and trainer psychotherapists specialised in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

Duration of the training programme: 3 years
Number of students admitted to the training programme: 6 - 20
Training programme fee: €16,500
The fee covers the supervised professional practice in groups included in the programme. In addition, students pay the service provider directly for the supervised professional practice for individuals or pairs included in the programme, their personal training-related psychotherapy and three large-group seminars.

The training programme is organised in cooperation with Varsinais-Suomen Lääkäripalvelu Oy.

Trainer psychotherapist training is targeted at people who have completed a Psychotherapist Training Programme and have already worked as psychotherapists. The training provides the skills for working as a trainer in psychotherapist training.

The Trainer Psychotherapist Training Programme in Integrative Psychotherapy increases understanding of the psychotherapeutic processes and the ability to take the individual needs of clients into consideration. After completing the programme, you will

  • Be able to comprehensively and in a well-grounded manner utilise different methods of theoretical analysis of various psychotherapeutic frameworks
  • Be able to apply different aspects common to different psychotherapeutic methods that have been proven to engender change in the therapy process
  • Have the clinical, pedagogical and research-related skills needed to work as a teacher, professional supervisor and trainer psychotherapist in psychotherapist training provided in accordance with the integrative approach
  • Be able to expand the research-based knowledge base of the integrative method

Duration of training programme: 2 years.
Number of students admitted to the training programme: 12-15 students.
